CitiWide Harm Reduction is dedicated to reducing the adverse health, social and
economic costs of drugs in New York City. In a safe and supportive, participant-led
community, we offer a wide variety of outreach, services and care to homeless and low-income
drug users living with and at risk for HIV/AIDS. Our programs are designed to promote
bio-psycho-social wellness in a respectful and nonjudgmental manner and, ultimately, to
provide participants the opportunity to develop, establish and reach positive outcomes for
themselves. We value the collaboration between participants and staff to facilitate pro-active
strategies and innovative responses where the promise is hope.
Since HIV is spread primarily through sexual practices or by sharing needles,
prevention messages on this site may address these topics. HIV prevention materials
funded by the CDC must be approved by local program review panels. However, the
materials may be considered controversial by some viewers.
