SRO HOTEL OUTREACH Fact: 3,000 people living with HIV/AIDS were homeless and living in commercial or non-profit Single Room Occupancy (SRO) hotels in New York City in 2005. CitiWide confronts homelessness and HIV/AIDS with critical home-delivered harm reduction services to homeless people living with HIV/AIDS who have been placed in SRO hotels for emergency shelter. Harm reduction services include: outreach syringe exchange condoms and other prevention materials education counseling medical triage Results: Each year our SRO hotel outreach engages over 1,000 homeless people with in-home services and transportation/connection to our drop-in center for additional services.
