The work of CitiWide Harm Reduction is grounded in a human rights perspective.
We recognize that drug use, HIV/AIDS, and homelessness are inextricably linked
to endemic social problems of poverty, racism, gender inequality, and homophobia.
A harm reduction framework addresses these problems of human rights in the context
of drug use and community health. |

Since our inception in 1995 as a syringe exchange program, CitiWide's services
have developed to encompass a comprehensive continuum of outreach, assistance
and care for marginalized communities. From our drop-in center, to the streets
of the Bronx, to home-based services offered in Single Room Occupancy hotels
throughout the city - we offer activities and services for integrated prevention and care. |
