HEALTH SERVICES
CitiWide teams up with HELP/PSI medical providers to offer medical appointments at the new HELP/PSI Health & Wellness Center located on the second floor of CitiWide's main facility in the Bronx. The health center is open Monday through Friday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM and an appointment can be made by calling toll free - 1-855-681-8700. Case managers accompany all participants to primary care and other referred specialty medical appointments.

MENTAL WELLNESS PROGRAM
Provides clinical services to all CitiWide Harm Reduction participants. The Mental Wellness Program provides counseling and care to participants who are struggling with mental illness, trauma, homelessness, health issues (HIV, HCV), substance use, violence, poverty and other social stressors. Our philosophy is grounded in harm reduction psychotherapy and motivational interviewing. CitiWide’s Mental Wellness program prioritizes the needs and interests of active substance users. Abstinence is not required to receive our services.

HARM REDUCTION, RECOVERY READINESS & RELAPSE PREVENTION SERVICES
Connects participants with HIV primary care and drug treatment through outreach in SROs and in the CitiWide drop-in center. Case managers provide one-on-one counseling and education regarding substance use, and harm reduction, including sexual risk reduction, injection drug use risk reduction, HIV and/or Hepatitis C secondary prevention, and medical treatment plan adherence. This program also provides services to individuals at risk for HIV for up to 90 days.
Services also include:

• Assessment of risk for sexually transmitted infections, and referral to screening and treatment at HELP/PSI and other providers.
• Screening and referral for substance use treatment for syringe exchange, ESAP, buprenorphine, methadone, detox, and other peer community support.
• Overdose prevention education and training, including risk reduction, assessment, response, and reversal, and prescribing and dispensing naloxone (Narcan).
• Rapid HIV testing, stress reduction, supportive counseling, activities of daily living (ADL) kits and drop-in activities.
• Distribution of condoms, lubricant and other harm reduction materials.

MY BROTHER brought me to CitiWide more than ten years ago. He told me that if I wanted to change my life, this was the place to go. He was right, as it turns out. Once I came through these doors, I stopped using drugs. It’s the way the staff talked to me – they taught me about harm reduction.

CitiWide introduced me to HELPPSI, where I get my health care, and see a psychiatrist. I have a beautiful doctor, who I’ve been seeing for years. Without HELP/PSI and CitiWide, I never would have gotten my health and voice back; I would still be writing everything I needed to say. CitiWide also helped me get my current apartment, where I’ve been living seven years. Right now, I’m looking to move and CitiWide is working with me once again.

I still come here every day, to make a group, and see friends. In the fall, I’ll enter the Herizen program for the first time. I advise anyone who’s doing drugs and who needs a place to go to come to CitiWide. They’ll make you feel comfortable here.
