We believe that training is just the first step.
The Herizen Women’s Peer Program is an 8-week training followed by a 24-week internship for women and transgender persons living with or at high risk for HIV infection who are actively using drugs. This dynamic program supports the provision of HIV and sexually transmitted infection (STI) prevention and related services for women, particularly women of color, with the overall goal of reducing STIs and HIV infection and promoting improved health and well-being within a harm reduction model. CitiWide provides a comprehensive prevention program through the delivery of outreach and client engagement services, HIV/STI prevention interventions and activities, HIV/STI testing and connection to comprehensive care and related services.
